THE LAST SUPPER

PART 2

MARK 14:22-26

1. Why is communion important to you?

The Lord calls us to partake in communion and it is a time to reflect on what God has done for each of us and where you are at in your walk with Him.

2. What point is Paul making in regards to communion in I Corinthians 11:23-26?

That the Lord wants us to remember what it cost Him so that we can gather and celebrate communion, HIS LIFE! It is to remember what He has done for us, a memorial so that we won’t forget that Jesus came to die, to pay the penalty for our sins so that we might live.

3. Does it matter how we approach communion? Explain. See I Corinthians 11:27-31.

First of all it is not for the unsaved, and secondly, for those that are saved, they are to come before the Lord in a manner that is pleasing to Him, not with an evil heart or living in blatant and un-repented sin. We see here that many in Corinth were sick and some had even died because of the way they were profaning communion.

4. What is Paul’s point in Hebrews 9:22 and how does it relate to Jesus?

Without the shedding of blood there was no remission of sin. It was the death of the innocent to save the guilty. Jesus shed His blood, the perfect sacrifice, the innocent, for us, guilty sinners so that we may live and have the righteousness of Christ imputed into our life!
