JESUS AGONIZES IN THE GARDEN

MARK 14:32-42

1. What point is Peter making in I Peter 2:24?

That Christ paid in full the penalty for our sins, all we must do is appropriate that free gift into our lives by receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is by His wounds that we are healed of sin!

2. Read Colossians 4:2. Why would Paul say these things regarding prayer?

Because Prayer is vital for our spiritual growth, it gets your eyes focused upward instead of upon yourself and what you can do. We also must be alert or aware of our prayer lives, that we don’t become lazy or drawn away to other things. And our prayers should be given in thanksgiving to God for what He is going to do and has done for us.

3. Read Nehemiah 4:7-9. What did Nehemiah do to fight off the attacks of the enemy?

He prayed to the Lord and took a stand against the enemy, watching carefully their moves, not becoming spiritually lazy, but being on guard.

4. According to Romans 8:15, we can call our heavenly Father "Daddy." Why?

Because we have become children of God, adopted into the family of God through Jesus Christ. Thus, as our heavenly Father He not only hears our prayers but He answers them!
